I actively avioded learning to knit socks as I'd seen more than one case of the Sock Knitting Take Over whereby a knitter can concentrate on nothing else but knitting socks and all other projects and priorities go out the window.
However, I've been travelling a lot for work and I really wanted a protable project that a. wouldn't cause security hiccups (sock monkeys needs scissors and even the smallest pair cause a drama) and b. was very self contained and didn't include too many essential peices or tools that I could lose.
So sock knitting it was and now I, very predictably, have the Sock Knitting Syndrome!
Here are my first "real" pair of socks. I started off with a couple of pairs of very plain socks but when this pattern arrived in my Knitch Yarn Club with the promise of a "simple 4 row lace" I jumped into something a bit more complex.
I've been collecting skeins of yarn on recent trips abroad so expect Frisco Socks, Denver Socks and a second pair of New York Socks in the future.
