Craft 2.0 turned 5 this year. I got to be boss of the fair for the day which included circling the stalls on regular occasions "checking if stall holders needed a break" but mostly just scoping out things I wanted for myself! I came home with new things from Madame Cake, Things Unseen, Spinning a Yarn and a little custom order in place with Threadmark.
At the end of last year I vowed to go into an unspecified period of retirement from selling at fairs but after just one fair in the sidelines I'm ready to be back in the mix!
At 2pm Craft 2.0 also played host to the first official Jam Off. Lynda Hallinan (from New Zealand Gardener) was MC for the event and well known Wellingtonians Al Brown and Kelda Hains judged the very pretty looking jam making efforts.
I have, on more than one occasion been accused of being a Lynda Hallinan groupie. But honestly, what's not to love and respect about a smart, effervescent and enterprising kiwi girl who's made a career out of gardening and general self sufficiency? She was the perfect choice as MC and I could pick a few other fans in the audience who'd obviously shown up just to see our First Lady of the Lifestyle Block!
